LookingFor.Finance — Finance Offer Comparison
Finance Offer Comparison
Enter the terms of two finance offers to compare the monthly repayment, interest, fees, balloon or residual and estimated total cost over the full finance period.
Add a third offer if required. Results update instantly as you change the assumptions.
Step 1
All offers are compared against the same underlying finance requirement, so the comparison stays like for like.
Enter the amount of finance you want to compare across all offers.
Compare the offers
Marks show which offer is lowest on each measure. They describe the calculation only — not suitability.

Balloon / residual effect
A balloon reduces the amount that must be amortised through the regular instalments, which can reduce the monthly repayment, but the balloon remains payable at the end of the term.

What matters most to you?
This selection does not affect any calculation. It only changes which measure is summarised below.
Normalised planning comparison
This comparison applies the same repayment period to each offer to help show how rate and cost differences affect the result. It does not mean that each provider offers finance on this term.
Where an offer has a balloon, its percentage of the opening financed balance is retained rather than its Rand amount, so the structure stays comparable.
What these offers are really doing
Keep the comparison
This will clear every offer and return the calculator to its defaults. Are you sure?
The principle
A lower monthly repayment can result from a lower interest rate, a longer term, a balloon or a different fee structure. To understand the real difference between offers, compare the repayment together with the total interest, fees, term and any amount still payable at the end.
The most suitable structure depends on both the cost of the finance and what you are trying to achieve.
Rate + term + fees + balloon = the real finance comparison
Compare like with like
A meaningful comparison should consider the same underlying finance requirement and distinguish between costs paid upfront, costs added to the finance, monthly fees and any balloon or residual.
The interest rate and monthly repayment are only part of a finance offer. LookingFor.Finance can help you assess the requirement, compare the structure and costs, and consider suitable funding routes before the matter moves into formal application.
Start with your situationThis calculator provides indicative planning estimates for general information and comparison purposes only. Calculated repayments and costs may differ from actual finance-provider quotations because of rate calculations, payment dates, fee structures, insurance, taxes, rounding, variable interest rates, early settlement terms and other contractual provisions.
The lowest calculated repayment, interest rate or total cost does not by itself determine which finance structure is most suitable for your circumstances.
Results do not constitute financial advice, a lender recommendation, quotation, pre-approval or indication that finance will be approved.
Actual terms, rates, fees, security requirements and lending decisions are determined by the relevant finance provider.
